摘要

本文在研究现代磁盘驱动器特性的基础上,提出了一种新型的高性能移动多媒体文件系统——跟踪文件系统(TFS)。本文首先分析了现代磁盘驱动器的非线性寻道延迟特性,然后指出了UNIX快速文件系统(FFS)由于移动多媒体文件写入量小而存在的缺点。在此基础上,提出了一种新的TFS磁盘布局方法:将元数据和数据放在同一轨道上。这种TFS的磁盘布局可以有效地降低移动多媒体文件访问的寻道开销,大大提高文件系统的吞吐量。实验表明,TFS是一种高性能的移动多媒体系统文件系统。
