Image and video processing plays a key role in modern day information and communication technologies. Images captured from cameras needs enhancement for before using them in various applications. Noise removal, contrast improvement, and adjustment of brightness are common operations performed on raw images after capturing from camera. Researchers have proposed variety of image enhancement techniques by using numerical methods, statistics, signal processing. In this paper, Histogram Equalization (HE) method is studied. HE is an important image enhancement scheme and many variations of HE has been proposed.
