The following structures of scalar closed-loop control systems are given: speed stabilized without magnetic flux stabilization, only magnetic flux stabilized, both speed and flux stabilized, also optimal and quasi-optimal structures are discussed. Moreover, classification of scalar control system by the type of speed regulator is given, and approaches to the regulators' structure design are described. In addition, several types of optimal and quasi-optimal scalar control systems are reviewed.
