Experimental characterization of a phase-sensitive four-mode fiber-optic parametric amplifier
Four-mode phase-sensitive amplification is experimentally introduced for the first time. In a proof-of-principle realization using a dual-pump fiber-optic parametric amplifier we achieve nearly 20-dB gain. The influence of the individual phases of the six interacting waves on the signal gain is investigated.
