Visualization of information in public management using open data of the Municipal Guard of Curitiba

This article presents Information Visualization techniques applied to open data referring to the activations of the Municipal Guard of the city of Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil. It is descriptive research where the chosen database and its visualizations are presented. The analyzed period was from January 2009 to March 2022. Microsoft Excel software was used for data processing and Microsoft Power BI software was used for developing the dashboards. The objective was to use the data to create visualizations capable of instigating improvements in public security policies. Some dashboards were generated and grouped by subjects including, for instance, occurrences of domestic violence. As a result, it was possible to generate information to support decision-making and improve security policies.
