However, various factors contribute to considerable link performance degradation. In this paper, the most crucial weather phenomenon, i.e., fog, is taken into account as it severely affects the performance of the link. One of the most promising methods to mitigate impairments of the performance of FSO systems in such weather conditions is to choose the most suitable amplifier along with the use of array of receivers. This paper analyses and compares the performance of the link for different amplifiers in order to achieve reliable performance of link in heavy fog conditions.
