Travel journalism in Odesa during the Russian-Ukrainian war: patriotic upbringing or therapy

This article is devoted to travel journalism as it is practiced in the military Odesa and the characteristics of preparing a travel media products, conducting tours at this time and their prospects for development. The situation how Odesa got into the travel rankings and became one of the best city break destinations for 2022 by the version of а British online newspaper “The Independent” and how the Russian attack changed tourism in the famous resort city is discussed in the article. As follows Odesa region has become a shelter for more than one hundred thousand Ukrainians from the eastern regions of the country. The displacement is considered at different levels. Internally displaced people had to leave their homes instinctively in order to survive. Millions people remain trapped and in need of all kinds of aid. Another part of refugees have already fled Ukraine. Inbound movement can be considered “frozen”, because visiting or returning to a dilapidated country remains extremely dangerous. This is mainly applies to foreign journalists.
