The Characteristics of Intellectual Output in the Field of Big Data in Oman from 2010 to 2020 : A Bibliometric Study Based on Scopus

The current study aimed to identify the intellectual output in the field of big data in the Sultanate of Oman during 2010 to 2020, by using the Bibliometric approach based on the Scopes database, the number of publications 123 publications which analyzed it based on document type, years, language, most productive institutions, and authors as well as the subject area. Also, using the excel program to display the results in tables and charts. The study found that conferences papers had the highest percentage in intellectual output (84%), the number of publications from 2010 until 2013 was zero, and the year 2016 was the highest, while the Middle East College was the most contributing institution to intellectual output in Oman, and all the publications were in English, The study recommends the necessity to encourage, support and fund researchers in the field of big data due to the importance of the topic, and to encourage them to write in the Arabic language to enrich the Arabic content.
