It is difficult to use objected-oriented methodology and traditional software paradigms to meet the challenges. Model Driven Architecture (MDA) has been proposed to solve the problems. In this paper, the principles, the advantages, the disadvantages, key techniques and some important issues of objected-oriented methodology and MDA are highlighted; the mechanism of combining objected-oriented methodology and MDA software paradigm is studied, especially the corresponding relations among models, domains, stages and languages are explored, and a modeling process for MDA is proposed.
