Methodological tools of censuses was analysed: programmes and manuals, dictionaries of nationalities and languages. Based on the methodological peculiarities of the censuses, data on the number of the Russian Indigenous Peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East presented in the censuses was systematised and integrated. The research results show that the lack of particular focus on the list, and, accordingly, the number of the Russian Indigenous Peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East explains numerous discrepancies in the analytical data for 1897–2010.","PeriodicalId":448106,"journal":{"name":"Paradigms and models of demographic development.
