Chekhov into the Serbian language by a native speaker of the Serbian language. Th e lexical-semantic and semantic-syntactic levels of interlanguage infl uence in the Russian and Serbian languages are considered. Th e eff ects of destructive interference leading to semantic distor-tions of the original text are analyzed.
