This qualitative study used observation, interviews, and documentation to collect primary data from six Indonesian EFL learners who were participants in storytelling and secondary data from two judges. The study revealed that there is a relationship between good speaking skills with fluency, correct pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar. Meanwhile, a good speaker has a big chance to win the competition.
