We argue that for the Oil sector the goals to be achieved for a successful ERP deployment are to streamline business processes, compliance with the regulatory environment but at the same time increase profitability This paper aims to contribute to develop a better understanding of the transition required by focusing on objectives, constraints, and the implementation process of ERP in this sector and provide guidelines from lessons learnt.
