ANALISIS TEKNIK PENERJEMAHAN: KESESUAIAN HASIL TERJEMAHAN PADA SUBTITLE BAHASA INDONESIA FILM PENDEK《致平行时空的你》

Translator is a person who carries out the process of interpreting or translating a language that is adapted to the language of the sender and the recipient. The result of the translating process is called translation. In translation there are techniques that can be used by interpreter to get translation with appropriate meanings so that what is conveyed in the source language can be conveyed to the target language. If interpreter doesn’t use the right technique, the results will receive a mismatch of meaning transfer. This study discusses the suitability of the translation results based on the translation techniques used in Chinese short movie with Indonesian subtitles. The research data is obtained from the short film 《致平行时 空的你》 and the study of film subtitles will use the theory of translation techniques belonging to Molina and Albir (2002) and the theory of the types of criteria for evaluating translation from Larson (1984). The results of the study found 181 data with 14 types of translation techniques and among 181 data there were 124 data that had conformity with the translation results, while 57 data had meaning transfers that were not very appropriate.
