State of development of the digital economy in the Republic of Belarus

Despite a significant number of works, there is still no clear understanding of what the digital economy is and how to assess the level of its development. Therefore, the aim of the study is to assess the state of the digital economy of the Republic of Belarus on the basis of the modern international system of indicators for the development of the digital economy and the movement towards the information society, which uses official statistics and data from one-time surveys for different levels of society, economic and social activity. To this end, the ecosystem of the digital economy and indicators of its development are considered, the place of the Republic of Belarus in the rankings of the digital economy, the development indicators of the information and communication technologies sector and the impact of digitalization on the activities of organizations of the Republic of Belarus are analyzed. As a result of the study, the state of development of the digital economy in the Republic of Belarus and the prospects for its development are substantiated.
