The Relationship Between Perceived Environmental Uncertainty and Environmental Scanning Behavior Among College Students-the Moderating Effect of Perceived Information Accessibility

The cultivation of innovative talents has become more and more important in a highly uncertain environment. Environmental scanning is one of the key processes that enables college students to precisely perceive environment, gain high-quality information with flexibility, which will contribute to higher innovation ability and employment quality. This study applied questionnaire surveys and multivariate linear regression analysis to investigate environmental scanning behavior of Chinese college students. In this paper, we not only verified the relationship between perceived environmental uncertainty and environmental scanning, the moderating effect of the perceived information accessibility, but also analyzed the different perception and coping behaviors of college students in task environment and general environment. Finally, we offered theoretical contribution and practical implications on the cultivation of innovative talents in universities.
