They first study the details of push-pull type trains running in speed control mode to obtain the block diagram of train dynamics. Important features in speed control function such as dead-band and acceleration rate limits are included and function blocks are developed to represent actual behavior. Then they use MATLAB/SIMULINK(R) to implement the simulation program in a straightforward manner.
