Using Information and Measuring Technologies to Improve Energy Efficiency
One of the acute problems of energy supply today is providing consumers with both high-quality electricity and reliable and economically justified electricity supply. The use of information and measurement technologies will allow identifying problem areas for their subsequent solution, including improving the efficiency of electricity generation. A steady increase in loads is imposed on the existing distribution networks. Power transmission lines designed according to the consumption standards of the second half of the last century no longer have the necessary capacity, as a result of which the voltage level is reduced far beyond the permissible requirements. Over a five-year period, there has been a sevenfold increase in the number of technological connections in our region. Measurements of electricity quality parameters were made at several dozen transformer substations, as a result, significant inconsistencies with regulatory requirements were revealed. It is also necessary to balance the voltage level and limit the range of its deviations with the help of special equipment, since it is impossible to limit the range of voltage deviations or reduce its asymmetry on existing electrical equipment in electrical networks. As the measurements showed, the level of the reactive power coefficient for the voltage of 0.4 kV and 10 kV is far beyond the standard level, which causes additional losses of electrical energy. The article discusses methods for solving the above problems by using special equipment using information and measurement technologies.
