Map matching algorithm design based on GPS information
Map matching is an important supplementary means to improve the precision of vehicular navigation system. Three steps of map matching are completed by probability statistic method, correlation coefficient method and projection method in this paper, which are determining the error region of the sections to be matched, selecting the matched section and displaying the vehicular position on the electronic map. The simulations show that the matching algorithm has the higher accuracy and is adaptable for the complex junctions.
