The TCR is mainly used as a reactive power compensator. The paper also presents experimental results and theoretical calculations of the TCR circuit. At various firing angle of the thyristors, the experimental results include the thyristor current, reactor current, RMS values of the power supply, current and voltage harmonics are plotted and tabulated.
