Development of Foreign Students' Intercultural Competence with the Help of Game Technologies
At present, in the era of globalization, in the conditions of sustainable development of the diversity of cultures and their mutual influence in the society, the problem of forming a professionally competent person with a positive attitude to other cultures, to the needs of different ethnic groups is particularly relevant. The implementation of the competence approach becomes an urgent task of higher professional education in relation to the formation of the future specialist's knowledge, skills, and abilities for effective intercultural interaction, i.e., the ability to navigate in social situations of communication with other cultures and values, the ability to correctly identify ethno psychological features and behavioral patterns of people of other nationalities, as well as the ability to choose appropriate ways of communication and implement them in the process of interethnic interaction at the professional and personal levels. The article considers the stages of intercultural competence formation and how game technologies can foster this process. The authors provide different classifications of games and elaborate a didactic model for teaching intercultural competence using game technologies.
