The present paper deals with a new strategy for shunt active filter control in order to improve the mitigation of the harmful effect of harmonics. The proposed configuration is based on a multivariable filter (MVF), which has a high selectivity in extracting the fundamental current component in balanced, unbalanced or distorted conditions, under different voltage conditions.
