The APF consist of a DC link capacitor and a two level four leg voltage source inverter which compensates the current harmonic components and unbalanced current generated by non linear loads. To design the predictive algorithm, the equivalent impedance of the system is calculated by standard procedure. The simulation results show the compensation performance of the active filter and the control scheme under steady state and transient operating conditions. The trigonometric calculation are eliminated and the computational efforts are reduced due to the effective time concept.
