In this paper, it summarizes the status quo of emission factors of power grids at home and abroad, analyzes the disadvantages of the frequently-used emission factors of power grids in recent China and puts forward suggestions on the calculation of emission factors of city-level power grids. It also calculates the emission factor of power grid within the pilot period in Urumqi of Xinjiang Autonomous Region on the basis of real data. The calculation result indicates that the emission factor of power grid in Urumqi significantly drops in comparison to that of the region.
