A novel predistorter model for digital predistortion of RF power amplifiers
Power amplifiers (PAs) are inherently nonlinear devices and are used in virtually all kinds of communication systems. Whereas, digital predistortion (DPD) is one of the cost-effective ways to improve the linearization performance of PAs. In this paper, a novel perdistorter model, which is used in digital predistortion of RF power amplifiers and based on the sum of sin function, is proposed. In the first stage, the new model is simulated in the MATLAB, then it is implemented by FPGA after accomplishing it's feasibility verification. Finally, the model is applied into the digital predistortion system and validated it's factual performance. The results show that the new predisdorter model can achieve better ACPR(Adjacent Channel Power Ratio) of the PAs' output signal when compared with the conventional polynomial predistorter model.
