Variable speed synchronous compensador based in wound rotor induction machine: Feasibility study between topologies
This work presents a feasibility study between two topologies which can be used in a variable speed synchronous compensator using a wound rotor induction machine (WRIM) operating in doubly fed mode (DFIG). The synchronous compensator has the capability to maintain a good quality of electricity from the grid, injecting or absorbing reactive power dynamically, in events where there is a harmful increase or drop in voltage. Was analyzed the technical and financial feasibility of the topologies of a converter and a rectifier that can compose the compensator. The obtained simulations show that technically the converter appears more advantageous while the rectifier has a greater financial viability.
