Conversational agent tutor based on ontologies for university environments
Academic tutoring exists in Universities as a support process for the student to carry out their academic and professional project that leads to the successful completion of their degree. The lack of availability of information, which is changing, and of the tutors to address a range of doubts from students, motivated us to propose developing the Conversational Agent Tutor system based on Ontology. In this paper we present the conceptual design of this system and a usability evaluation that allowed us to determine the perception of 25 students regarding the ease of use and their feasibility to use it. For the above, we used the SUS and UES instruments and a questionnaire that we designed. We identified that the system is perceived as useful, but we need to design and implement a robust ontology that satisfies the guidance and information needed by students.
