The method discussed is to gauge such a transient's ability to create sufficient energy, high enough in frequency profile, to excite a circuit's resonance. This paper details aspects of the time to frequency domain transformation, key parameters of the circuit that influence this relationship as they relate to CE testing. Discussion of a novel approach is included to allow pre-compliance assessment using the impulse impedance for parallel and series capacitive coupled waveforms.
