Penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimen faktorial 2 x 2. Untuk menentukan sampel penelitian, terlebih dahulu dilakukan penentuan metode latihan atletik secara acak sederhana (random simple) dengan cara undian, dilanjutkan melakukan tes kelincahan untuk menentukan sampel dengan metode dari Miller. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan Tes Kesegaran Jasmani Indonesia untuk anak usia 10-12 tahun. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis varian dua jalur ANOVA, uji lanjutan Tukey dengan taraf signifikansi α = 0.05. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut (1) Ada pengaruh perlakuan kelompok metode latihan kids athletics dan kelompok metode latihan spesialisasi atletik terhadap peningkatan kebugaran jasmani siswa sekolah dasar. (2) Ada pengaruh peningkatan kebugaran jasmani siswa sekolah dasar antara kelompok kelincahan tinggi dan kelompok kelincahan rendah. (3) Ada interaksi antara metode latihan atletik dan kelincahan terhadap peningkatan kebugaran jasmani siswa sekolah dasar. Kelompok metode latihan kids athletics kelincahan tinggi menunjukkan perbedaan rata-rata peningkatan kebugaran jasmani yang lebih baik dibandingkan kelompok lainnya.Kata kunci: atletik, kelincahan, kebugaran jasmani, siswa sekolah dasar EFFECTS OF THE ATHLETICS EXERCISE METHODS AND AGILITY ON THE IMPROVEMENT OF ELEMENTARY STUDENTS’ PHYSICAL FITNESSAbstractThis study aims to investigate effects of the athletics exercise method and agility on the improvement of elementary school students’ physical fitness. The study employed a 2 x 2 factorial experimental design. To determine research sample, a simple random atlethic traning method is applied beforehand by way of lottery, followed by agility test for determining sample using Miller Method. The data were collected by means of the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test for children aged 10-12 years. They were analyzed using the two-way ANOVA and the post-hoc Tukey test at a significance level of α = 0.05. The results of the study were as follows. (1) There were effects of the treatment using the kids athletics exercise method and that using the athletics specialization exercise method on elementary school students’ physical fitness. (2) There was a difference in the improvement of their physical fitness between those with high agility and those with low agility. (3) There was an interaction between the athletics exercise method and agility on the improvement of elementary school students’ physical fitness.
