The objectives of\nthis paper are: (1) examine the current safety practices in Indian construction industry (2) identify the causes of accidents (3) recommend solutions to improve safety performance at Indian construction workplace. Interviews were\nconducted with experienced professionals in Indian construction industry. Results indicated that accidents were caused\nby the combination of organizational and individual factors.
