The objective of this research is to develop a sensor warning system (SW system) for warning construction workers from unsafe conditions. This study focuses on a lifting operation of the tower crane. The SW system is developed based on the Internet of Things (IoT) concept, GPS sensor, and server. In this paper, the pilot test was conducted on testing GPS devices which could lead to determine the distance error and calibrate the system. As a result, the average of distance error was 1.96 meters for calibrating the system.
