This paper attempts to change this situation. In this study, the learners are divided into two groups. One group is taught in a traditional way, while the other group is taught in the edX. First, formative evaluation is used for comparing the learning effect of two groups. Then, summative evaluation is adopted to compare the learning effect of two groups. The results show that the learning effect of the edX courses is better than that of the traditional courses.
