Evaluating teachers' attitudes toward the use of wireless-mobile technologies in supporting learning: an instrument development study
What are teachers' attitudes toward the use of mobile technologies in the classroom? A positive attitude toward innovation is crucial and indicative of a state of readiness to sustain or use that innovation. This paper describes an instrument developed to measure teachers' attitudes toward the use of wireless-mobile technologies in the classroom. A factorial analysis revealed an estimated alpha internal consistency score of .85 for a heterogeneous group of school teachers. Collecting reliable data from teachers, with regard to their attitude toward the use of mobile technologies in the classroom, can provide valuable insights into assessing readiness to integrate mobile technologies into the classroom and interventions designed to help teachers enhance their teaching.
