Current Movement of "Digital Archives in Japan" and "khirin (Knowledgebase of Historical Resources in Institutes)"

This paper describes the overall picture of digital humanities in Japan and explains the significance of "Integrated Studies of Cultural and Research Resources (ISCRR) "and "khirin (Knowledgebase of Historical Resources in Institutes)", the database of the findings of the ISCRR. One of the essential functions that "khirin" has but Japan Search does not is spatial search based on geographical information. "khirin" can be said to deliver excellent user experience in terms of browsing individual regional information. We must recognize that information infrastructure is not, as it were, "browsing as an exit", rather it is "an entrance that provides input for understanding the community."
