Design of a Special Skill Training Apparatus That Can Imitate High Loss Transformer Power Supply District
This paper proposes a design for a special skill training apparatus that aims to provide a scene wherein trainees can improve their abilities in diagnosing what provokes a high loss in electricity supplies and finding solutions to it in order to train line loss management skills of workers in the electricity power industries. The apparatus’ fundamental components are control elements and metering devices such as 3-phase electric power meters, single phase electric power meters, and corresponding acquisition terminals, with many virtual power sources to behave like an electric load. They have a similar organization and topological link to genuine electric power metering sites, but more controllable. The device's operation is managed by a customized computer that has been programmed and installed with a set of software. The software's main purpose is to provide a UI interactive interface for implementing specific parameters that allow the device to imitate irregularities that cause large line losses in the transformer power supply district. A line loss rate will be calculated automatically following the settings under a given algorithm in order to maximize the imitation. After its manufacture, the device has been used in the training of workers in the power marketing sector, and the completion of all features increased their skill levels to some extent.
