Hence, the accurate solution of the transmission expansion problem is essential in order to plan power system in an economic and efficient manner. There are a number of techniques that have been proposed for transmission expansion planning. These approaches and algorithms are used successfully on a very wide variety of electrical power system problems. In this paper an analytical approach is proposed which gives an optimal solution for transmission expansion planning in terms of number of line needed while expanding the corridor for transmission lines.
