Polarization identification of high resolution range profiles
In this paper, a novel effective polarization identification method is presented for vehicle sized ground target identification application. The method uses wide band FMCW orthogonal duel-polarization technology to obtain the degraded PSM of each scattering center in high resolution range profile. For different type of scattering center, different matching weight vectors of transmitting and receiving are used to process the PSM data of range profiles. Finally, power or amplitude output matched to different type of scattering center is obtained and used to identify target by means of the information about the kind of scattering centers the target is constructed. The method is more effective than those which use features obtained from only one polarization channel.
