Editors-in-chief of the main and external campuses were also interviewed to validate the results of the questionnaires. As perceived by the respondents, results showed that leadership and management, editorial writing, editing and proofreading, and video taking were highly needed. Results demonstrated that student journalists prefer to cover events that they are concerned with student welfare and the law and governance which are evident in the dominant activities of the campuses. However, some events that were rarely represented by these concerned students involved research and development, production, and gender and development activities. The results of this study served as one of the bases in crafting the training program of the aforementioned student journalists. This study then recommended the following training program. There is a need to craft a training program that prioritize the topics on leadership and management, editorial writing, editing and proofreading, video making, and professionalism in campus journalism.
