Analysis of International Technology Transfer in Industrial Gas Companies in the Philippines
Developing countries have been looking for ways to improve the economy by producing innovative products. Since most forms of technology used for making production are not available locally, most companies look for required technology in foreign countries. Most studies have been done on analyzing the perspective of company management in regards to the effectiveness of international technology transfer. This study will analyze the effectiveness of international technology transfer from the employees perspective in industrial gas industries where most of the technologies used are not available in the Philippines. The study has surveyed 204 employees about the effectiveness of ITT based on the four latent of horizontal, active, passive, and commercial technology transfer. The results will be calculated by the use of SPS AMOS to determine model fit, effectiveness of each latent and correlations between each latent. The study has determined that the results have an average model fit, the latent are significant, the factors are mostly not significant to their corresponding latent, and the latent have a weak to very weak correlation. The model formed is effective in determining the effectiveness of international technology transfer based on the model fit test however the model can still be improved by adding indicators.
