According to Divers Alert Network Europe, 189 fatalities related to diving occurred in 2018, most of which may have been prevented by sufficient training. The article describes what prerequisites must be met in order to obtain the basic qualifications to practice recreational diving in each of the above-mentioned diving organisations.
