For this purpose, the meteorological data have been studied for the summer and winter seasons also the different processes involving in the coke oven plant have been studied from the similar kind of plant(Raipur alloys and steel ltd. ) existing in the industrial area of Siltara. The ground level concentration of the pollutant after the commencement of the plant has been calculated by using single-source (CRSTER) model computer program developed by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA 450/2-77-013).[7] Hence by studying different activities during and after construction phase, final anticipated impact on the air environment have been identified. From the result it can be concluded that though there will be minimal impacts on the environment due to the proposed coke oven plant at Siltara, but the continuous exposure to the same environment without any control measures may cause health problem to the people residing in the same area of Siltara. The environmental impacts identified by the study are manageable. Site specific and practically suitable mitigation measures are recommended to mitigate the impacts.
