Utilizing the TSCC in Therapeutic Residential Care
ABSTRACT This study evaluated the trends of reported childhood trauma found in two adolescent therapeutic residential communities (TRCs) in the rural Rocky Mountain West as measured by the Trauma Symptom Checklist for Children (TSCC). The participants (N = 168) involved in the study were adolescent males and females aged 12–16 who had been admitted into therapeutic residential care (TRC). Results indicated that depression, disassociation, and anger were the primary trauma symptoms with this population. Implications and recommendations per the evidence-based practice common element approach are included.
