The phenomenon of Islamophobia according to Samuel Huntington

Samuel Huntington's theory of the clash of civilizations received great interest in interpreting the interactions of current international relations, as the theory confirmed that the issue of conflict, although it was originally related to the search for interests, the nature of this conflict in the future will be a conflict between civilizations not states. Huntington's theory has contributed to the resurrection of the phenomenon of Islamophobia in Western social systems and the reinforcement of misgivings between Islamic and Western cultures, which negatively affected Muslims in the West and the contents of Western political and media discourses. Accordingly, this study analyzes and criticizes the theory of the clash of civilizations and its political and social consequences, and how it was the cause of exacerbating the phenomenon of Islamophobia. And that the contents of this theory and its assumptions are wrong, because Huntington could not determine the link between a civilization and the foreign policy of the countries belonging to it.
