Simplified Photo-Electro-Thermal Model Applied to Resonant-Switched-Capacitor-Based OLED Drivers
This paper presents a review of the state of the art of OLED photo-electro-thermal (PET) modeling techniques for resonant-switched-capacitor based OLED driver analysis and design. The OLED PET equivalent circuit model is used as a static and dynamic load to analyze and simulate OLED lamp drivers. The proposed simplified electrical nonlinear dynamic modeling is based on electrical variables and on the equivalent resistance concept, which has been extrapolated from previous discharge lamp modeling. The proposed model presents the advantages of good accuracy under static and dynamic regimes, as well as simplicity to be implemented, because it does not use any sophisticated equipment. Simulations and experimental results of the simplified electrical nonlinear dynamic model obtained from a Philips Lumiblade FL300 OLED lamp of 7.26W are in a good agreement, with a relative error of only 1.6%. In addition, some simulations and experimental results of a 21.78 W OLED nonlinear dynamic model driven by a unidirectional resonant switched-capacitor (URSC) converter obtained from a laboratory prototype are presented.
