Automated planning is distinguished from other dynamic behavior by its ability to reason with predictions or assumptions about future outcomes, which has traditionally been left to the meticulous effort of human modelers. In this paper, we present a conceptual planning framework as an architectural roadmap for the development of this kind of capability in support of modeling and simulation.
