Transfer matrix method for the analysis of dielectric resonators inside multilayer cylindrical cavities
This paper addresses a fast and numerically efficient radial mode matching method for resonant frequencies and modes of dielectric resonators in multilayer cylindrical cavities. The distinguishing feature of this approach is using transfer matrix method both in the axial and radial direction. The radial TE and TM modes of a multilayer parallel-plate waveguide can be obtained by applying the transfer matrix method in the axial direction and the characteristic equation of the cavity resonator is obtained by applying the transfer matrix method in the radial direction. To address the numerical issues, we have analyzed a simple dielectric resonator structure.
