Multiple-Valued Method as an Assessment of Tourist Attractiveness of Urban Areas on the Example of Dobczyce

The following article shall comprise the most popular methods of research on the tourist attractiveness of urban areas. The main purpose of the work, however, is to present a multi-valued method as an effective tool that exposes places with the greatest tourist attractiveness or with appropriate possibilities on which further planning work should be undertaken. As an example, a detailed analysis was made of the area covered by the administrative borders of the city of Dobczyce, using the collected cartographic materials and site inspection. The adopted technique showed the most attractive zones, where the most favorable environmental conditions occur, creating the most convenient possibilities for the organization of leisure and recreational functions. The comparison of the results obtained with the existing planning studies indicates the usefulness of the multiple-valued method for various preliminary planning studies that concern the tourist attractiveness of the areas.
