I. Yasinsky, A. D. Reipolsky, F. F. Aminov, M. A. Bychkov, K. O. Pochtennaya, S. Yu. Badelina and A. Ya. Lomaev. The drawings are considered in terms of preserving the traditions of the \"Lebedev school\", namely, the principles that the artists adhere to in relation to the entertainment and cognitive value of illustrations in art publications for children, which is especially important today, when the problem of children refusing to read is acute, and communication with a book is often supplanted by the interaction with various gadgets. Based on the requirements of V. V. Lebedev to drawings in a children's book and the studies of Russian teachers and psychologists, the author highlights the formal and content features of the illustrations, which make it possible to consider them entertaining and informative, and analyzes the illustrations of Saint Petersburg artists according to these criteria. The results of the study show that modern Saint Petersburg artists continue, to varying degrees, the tradition of V. V.
