Improving Graphic Design Skill Through G Suite for Education in Undergraduate Students
The purpose of this research was to answer how learning with G Suite for Education contribute toward improve graphic design skills and academic achievement of undergraduate students. The sample group used in this research was students in Bachelor of Education program that registered in Computer Graphic Design course at Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University, Thailand. The evaluation of learning outcomes demonstrated the effectiveness of students’ graphic design skills. Regarding G Suite, it was a tool that supports students in developing 21st-century specific skills, including self-learning skills, promoting collaborative learning anywhere, anytime, and all forms of technology, when connect their network to the Internet. Productivity tools for create, share and edit files in real-time in the cloud computing can also increase classroom management efficiency. In this research, students were tasked with practicing graphic design skills using a computer program in the process to help each other in the classroom, where the instructor was closely guided. Additionally, students practiced graphic design in class and homework, learn theories on their own from a G Suite environment, and practice graphic design in the classroom. Students were evaluated with actual conditions assessment by instructor using multiple scoring scales using a quality developed four-level rubric. The results indicated that G suite for Education enhanced students’ creativity, design knowledge and Technology knowledge in term of graphic design skill and the student achievement was significantly higher at.05. Positively, students presented high satisfaction for experience in self-directed learning through the G Suite for Education environment.
