First, the CuInS2 core QDs were synthesized in the non-coordinating octadecene (ODE) solvent using copper chlorine, indium chlorine and dodecanethiol (DDT) as sources. CuInS2 QDs with diameter of 2~5 nm were obtained by tuning the reaction temperatures and times.
